Charney Bassett Village College

Charney Bassett Village College was established in January 2001 by the Parish Council.

Its objectives are:-

  1. in the absence of a school, to provide facilities within Charney Bassett to assist villagers (and others from adjacent villages) to learn new skills,
  2.  to act as a channel through which any grants from Charney and Lyford Education Trust (CLET)* can be used to benefit villagers, and
  3.  to improve the viability of the Village Hall by putting it to greater use.

*CLET: is a charity administering the income from the proceeds of the sale of Charney School in 1986.  It awards grants to educational projects undertaken by individuals or groups in Charney Bassett and Lyford.

The College is managed by Jos Bath.
